Italy Embassy in Malaysia


The Italian Embassy in Malaysia is known as the Ambasciata d’Italia a Kuala Lumpur. It is the only Italian representation in the country while Malaysia has 4 corresponding embassies in Italy. As a foreign representation in the country, the Italian Embassy makes up one of the over 160 foreign offices while it is one of the 638 oversea consular representations and diplomatic offices for Italy.

The Italian Embassy is the main consulate voice for the European country which is open on weekdays. From Mondays to Thursdays, visitors with official matters can come to the embassy between 9.00am to 1.00pm. Meanwhile, the embassy is open from 9.00am to 12.00pm on Fridays. It must be noted that the office is closed on the last business days of every quarter of the calendar year which are March, June, September and December respectively.

Italian citizens are provided with all the support they can get from the embassy including an emergency number dedicated for them which is operational between 6.00pm and 10.00pm from Mondays to Thursdays and 1.00pm to 10.00pm on Fridays. On weekends, the emergency number is available between 9.00am to 10.00pm while Italian citizens and expatriates can write in to the embassy for any help or assistance.

The Italian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur is located along Jalan U-Thant in Ampang which is where most of the foreign embassies, consulates and high commissions are located. The embassy plays an important role in fostering ties with Malaysia where it is involved in cooperative initiatives in the political, economic and cultural areas.
